The RAN Distinguished Contributor Award recognizes outstanding contributions to the Rheumatology Access Network by individuals who have demonstrated sustained commitment, leadership, and impact.
The RAN Distinguished Contributor Award is open to individuals who have demonstrated exceptional commitment, leadership, and impact within the RAN community.
Self-nominations are accepted and encouraged.
What We Celebrate
The RAN Distinguished Contributor Award honors individuals who demonstrate:
- Sustained contributions to RAN over multiple years
- Leadership in community building, advocacy, or program development
- Measurable impact on RAN’s mission and member experience
- A strong commitment to RAN’s core values and principles
Award Recognition
Each year, one exceptional individual will be selected to receive the RAN Distinguished Contributor Award and be recognized for their lasting contributions to the network and the rheumatology community.
Award Package Includes
- Round-trip travel to the RAN September Conference
- Hotel accommodations for the duration of the conference
- Formal award presentation during the conference
- Recognition in RAN conference materials and communications
- Featured profile on the RAN website and social media channels
Eligibility
The RAN Distinguished Contributor Award is open to individuals who have demonstrated exceptional commitment, leadership, and impact within the RAN community.

Nomination Requirements
To be considered, nominations must include the following materials:
Nominator Information

- Organization or affiliation
- Relationship to the nominee (if applicable)
Nominee Information
- Full name and contact information
- Current position and organization
Resume or Curriculum Vitae
Submit a current CV or résumé (maximum three pages) highlighting relevant experience and accomplishments.
RAN Involvement History
Provide a summary of the nominee’s involvement with RAN, including:
- Roles held, such as ambassador, volunteer, committee member, or other leadership positions
- Timeline of participation, including start date and key milestones
- Programs, initiatives, or events supported or led
- Notable contributions to the RAN community
Impact Statement (500 Words Maximum)
The impact statement should clearly address the following areas:
1. Leadership and Contributions
- What specific roles, projects, or initiatives has the nominee led or supported?
- What unique skills, expertise, or resources has the nominee brought to RAN?
2. Impact on the Organization
- How has the nominee’s work advanced RAN’s programs, services, or strategic priorities?
- How has the nominee contributed to the growth and strength of the RAN community?
3. Impact on Members and the Community
- How has the nominee’s work affected RAN members or the broader rheumatology community?
- What measurable outcomes or lasting benefits have resulted from their contributions?
4. Commitment and Engagement
- How has the nominee demonstrated sustained involvement over time?
- In what ways has the nominee helped advance RAN’s mission and long-term goals?
5. Supporting Letters (Optional but Encouraged)
Supporting materials may include:
- Letters of support from RAN members
- Testimonials from colleagues, mentors, or community leaders
- Additional documentation demonstrating the nominee’s impact and contributions
